![]() On a related note, one of the players in my current game chose a firearm left to him by his late, pirate grandfather. And despite the slight delay to the Magus's spells, I feel that you'll have better abilities and overall direct combat application than a straight Wizard. Despite dealing with touch AC most of the time, you'll be better off as a 3/4 BAB class than a 1/2. The Wizard's to-hit is low enough that.well, it's problematic. If you just want to dedicate into the arcane gun trope, you should really only splash Spellslinger and take the rest of your levels as a Myrmidarch. That nets you the arcane gun ability, up to second level spells on Magus where you'll find Scorching Ray, you'll have Shocking Grasp at CL 4th which you can use with firearm attacks, plus dex to damage on your firearm attacks. If you had 10 levels to work with, I would absolutely recommend Wizard (Spellslinger) 1/Magus (Myrmidarch) 4/Gunslinger (Gun Tank) 5. There's a lot you can do within the system that works really well for the character. Both chambers can be fired at once as a standard action, or fired independently. I even used a double pistol for his actual gun. This should give me what I'm looking for, as well as fit with the plot of the game (the GM recently had an npc do.something to my characters gun thst boosted it's range along with a cryptic "more abilities may appear") but I only have 12 int, which isn't enough to make a decent wizard and am worried about giving up full BAB.Ĭould this sort of build be made to work, and are there any spells that could work with it? The archetype's abilities allow you to use you gun to cast spells, and add your enhancement bonus to either the attack role or spell DCs, as well as the ability to burn spells in exchange for briefly buffing your gun. I recently discovered the spellslinger archetype for the wizard, and am considering taking a three level dip in it after level 5. I've been playing a pistolero gunslinger in a campaign recently, it's been going well enough, but I've been looking for ways to allow my character to do more things in combat instead of the standard move and shoot. /r/3d6 - For character creation, advice and sharing (system agnostic)./r/Battlemaps - For your VTT battlemap requirements./r/Tabletop - For your general tabletop gaming shenanigans./r/lfg - Looking For Group, find other players, etc./r/RPG - For general, non-Pathfinder related RPG discussion./r/Starfinder_rpg - For dedicated discussion of Paizo's Science Fantasy system and setting./r/Pathfinder_Kingmaker - To discuss the Owlcat-made computer RPGs./r/Pathfinder2e - For dedicated Second Edition discussion./r/Pathfinder - For Pathfinder Society Organization/Discussion.Other subreddits you might be interested in: ![]() Fillable character sheets and intelligent character builders. Some of these tools and resources include the following: We have a Wiki page that includes links for various useful tools and resources, most of which have been provided by the members of this community.
